I just wanted to stop by to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day. I hope you all took a moment to remember our fallen service men and women. God bless our troops!!

We also spent time with family this weekend at our cabin and went fishing. I've included a picture of me on the boat. I don't mind holding the pole for mommy, but I'm not big enough to reel one in. Mommy caught a whopper and daddy was so excited for her! We sure had a great time. I love being on the boat where it's quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature.

Tell me about your great adventures; I'd love to hear from you!

Au revoir for now!

Gigi

We're Patented!

Bonjour, everyone!

Gigi, here. I have some very exciting news to share with all of you. Mommy and I finally got our patent certificate. After nearly four years and lots and lots of money, our RoverWrap Dog Blankets are Patented! Mommy has worked so hard for this that when she got the news from her attorney, she hooped and hollered and gave daddy a great big hug!

To celebrate, she and daddy went out to dinner and brought home some special cookies just for us. Now, I'm not one for junk food, my taste is more sophistocated. I only like all natural, healthy cuisine, but these treats are to die for! There are peanut-shaped ones, people cookie shaped ones, steak shaped ones, bone-shapes, and fish shaps. It took me a minute or two before I'd try it, but once I did, I was in L-O-V-E, love -- dans l'amour! Mommy only doles them out once in a while, which is a good thing, I have to watch my girlish figure for my upcoming photo shoots.

Oh! I didn't tell you. Mommy got a bunch of new colors in for our blankets. We'll be updating the website to feature them, and offer free shipping to celebrate our patent. I have to see my coiffeur next week so that I'm all buffed and polished for photos. Mommy says that she'd love to hear from all you furkids out there. Tell me what colors of blankets you'd like to see offered on our site. After all, you're the ones who have to be seen in them.

In other news, I went with mommy to visit my grandma yesterday. My aunt and cousin had all their furkids there, too. There were four Dachshunds and a Chihuahua! It looked like a Doxie dog farm in that place. I like visiting with all my fur-relatives, but I'm not really the social type. They all think that I'm some kind of dog breed, like them, when actually, I'm a small person in a fur coat. I don't know why they can't make the distinction, but it can get agrivating. I usually spend all my time in mommy's arms to keep those mutts from sniffing all over me. It messes my do and leaves nose prints on my clothes!

Well, gotta dash for now. We're going to a jewelry party tonight and I have to pick the dress I'm going to wear and maybe catch a quick nap before Bob comes back in from helping daddy plant trees.

Au revoir!

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hello everyone! My name is Mademoiselle Gigi Francois, but you can just call me, "Gigi." I am a five-pound, five-year-old Tiny Toy Poodle with red and apricot fur. My daddy calls me, "SmawDog" because of my tiny stature, I suppose. I like that nickname, but only because my daddy gave it to me. I prefer my more sophisticated and proper name of Gigi.

You see, daddy has always had big hunting dogs and when mommy adopted me, he had never seen such a small furbaby in his life and started calling me SmawDog. Of course, he fell in love with me right away. Who wouldn't! I am quite adorable, and smart!

Daddy adopted a Chocolate Labradoodle about a year ago, named Bob. Bob is a 75 pound pain in my neck! He really cramped my style when he moved in, always wanting to romp and play like a common puppy -- Stealing my food and toys, soiling the carpeting -- well, I never!

Now, you youngsters out there, pay attention. The trick I'm about to share with you is invaluable. I discovered that when Bob has a bone I want, or when I want to get him in trouble, all I have to do is go get one of my toys from my toy box and start playing with it. When I have his attention, I leave my toy and, Bob, the genius that he is, drops what he's doing to come and get it. When he's distracted with ripping apart yet another one of my toys, I go get his bone, or tell daddy that Bob is destroying my property. Daddy yells at Bob, and I just sit back and smile.

But, Bob is getting wise to me, now. He doesn't leave his bones in exchange for my Pooh Bear anymore, and daddy keeps him away from my toys; what there is left of them. I guess he's here to stay. Nothing I've tried has convinced daddy to take him back where he came from.

We have one more furkid in our family, a Blue Heeler named "Squeak." She's quite old, and I love her so much. She's the best big sister in the whole world. Squeak took me in when I first arrived and showed me the ropes. She also protected me from that scoundrel, Bob, when dad found him under a rock and drug him home to disrupt our entire household.

I do have steady work that I'll tell you about as we go along. I am a model, of course, for my mommy's company, RoverWrap.com. We make blankets for the lap-sized furkids. They're really more like fleece sleeping bags. I've never met a doggie friend who doesn't simply adore their RoverWrap! Mommy takes my pictures all the time and posts them on the website. I'm really quite famous; I'm surprised that you haven't already heard of me.

I'm very busy, but I'll try to post here every few days or so, to keep you posted on my exciting life. I live on a small ranch, so you'll be hearing about the horses and goat, too. I just now came in from helping daddy bring the horses in from the field. I don't know what he'd do without me.

Squeak is usually the one helping herd horses, but she showed me what to do a long time ago. I'm not normally the outdoorsy type, but I love spending time with daddy and making him proud of me.

So, if you'll excuse me for now, I have to go get this ranch smell off my clothes and wash the dirt from my new pawdicure. I hope you'll come back often to catch up with me. Have your human join the conversation, or ask me anything you'd like!

Au Revoir, all!
